‘Battlestar Galactica’ Reunion ‘17th Precinct’ Pilot Surfaces Online | THR
It’s a police drama from Ron Moore set in a small town with magic and supernatural elements. NBC passed on the series.
I know the internet would enjoy Apollo and Baltar as supernatural crime fighting partners, but this looks like an enormously expensive show to make in a market that is already...

Rachel Ray is making chicken vesuvio
Which is something I’ve only ever had in Chicago. It’s like every end-of-season/youth group catered dinner of my childhood.
Maybe I need to make this some time.
(I stopped on Rachel Ray because Joey Fatone was cooking something else. It’s like nostalgia day up in here.)

There is an extremely crucial difference between being results-oriented and profits-oriented.
Yes! I’ve worked in commercial and non-profit theater, and I like them both. I can go on and on about how they’re part of a balanced eco-system of blah blah blah but there’s one major difference:
Commercial productions have investors to whom you need to pay back money.

When I was in college and my mom sent me a present for Hanukkah. She sent me a package full of socks.
I called and said, “You bought me socks for Hanukkah?”
Mom: “You said you needed some!”
Me: “Well, yes, and they’re great, but it’s still kind of hilarious.”
Mom: “It’s not the only thing I got you.”

weatherall replied to your post: I would have ended the Kennedy Center Honors with Neil Diamond
Word. You can’t top that.
I thought that, but the multi-cultural-classical-pop jam with children’s chorus singing “Here Comes the Sun” in tribute to Yo Yo Ma was pretty awesome, too.
Also Yo Yo Ma was introduced by Stephen Colbert and Elmo. And I guess when you’ve performed...

I got home just in time for Broadway Divas United...
I wish they’d keep the divas in the camera instead of the dancing boys. But these ladies* are bringing it.
(Laura Osnes, Kelli O’Hara, Rebecca Luker, Glenn Close, Sutton Foster, Patti LuPone, and Audra McDonald. Fuck yeah.)
((Also Barbara Cook found a non-black dress that looks good with that medal.))

I was tired and turned off my alarm this morning...
And in the meantime had a school anxiety dream. THE WORST.
In this dream my senior thesis was due tomorrow and I had forgotten to do… anything. I was somehow a theater major (ha!) and was calling friends to beg for data because I was apparently doing some sort of analysis of Broadway grosses and this one guy screengrabbed the weekly grosses off of Playbill and put them in a database....

Dubonnet is my friend’s cat, and he named her after the fortified wine, but that would be good too.
(it’s fortified with quinine! It’s medicinal!)

you don’t have a muddler? it’s like i don’t even know you.
I’m sorry, have you met me? Why would I have that?
(I keep trying to use the tongs you bought me, I just can’t get the hang of it. I guess I’m just a wooden spoon kinda gal.)

sugar cubes
I might need to acquire an actual muddler. I used a spoon from Rice to Riches.
(It is thanks to that singapore sling night that I had bitters and maraschino cherries here, though.)

thought about going out
Made an old fashioned instead.
(Well, the best I could do without citrus or simple syrup.)
(What’s easier, getting sugar cubes or making simple syrup?)
(The bourbon I bought a while ago is a little too rye-y to drink straight. Figured cocktails would be a good thing to do with it. Must acquire vermouth.)

ARE YOU ALONE IN NEW YORK FOR HOLIDAY ELISABETH?
Uh, yes. I have plans on Sunday, but yes, I’m alone. I’m considering going out in a few minutes to a bar, but I probably won’t.
Shelby, why didn’t I borrow your Gilmore Girls dvds before you left town?
