Socks are done!  I can wear them to work tomorrow!

I loved working on these, loved loved loved LOVED it, and I might very well make a pair of matching handwarmers with the large quantity of leftover yarn I have sitting around.  I’ve already started thinking about how to do the gusset, honestly *G*

And for anyone interested in making them, these are the Elementary Watson Socks in one of the possible bases for Ariadne’s MCN.

Since I am probably way too lazy to ever make an entire faux-Aran sweater like John Watson’s, socks inspired by that pattern is SO going to happen.

Fantasmic

This. (Also, I’m not sure how there’s only 4 episodes of this show or whatever. I feel like I’ve seen at least 6 seasons worth of gif sets.)

He doesn’t just do what Mycroft tells him. He does other stuff too!

the disdain on ‘is it?!’

i can’t even.

Still not enough Graves.

Basically, there’s a hell of a lot of potential nuance to the way one person feels about another person, even when you take sex and/or romance off the table. And that’s one thing Moffat and Gattiss did brilliantly. They gave us a celibate asexual virgin man who is probably aromantic and they put him in a primary platonic relationship with a heterosexual man who clearly likes to date women but has already made up his mind about where his priorities lie. And then they threw in a lesbian dominatrix who may or may not feel sexually and/or romantically attracted to asexual!Sherlock despite the fact that he’s a man, without definitively telling us that her attraction to him is sexual or romantic. All they told us is that she’s attracted to him—but there are many forms of attraction. And finally, they made that asexual!aromantic!Sherlock care about her in some mysterious way, after becoming intrigued by her.

- outlawroad’s incredible Sherlock+Irene analysis (x)

I keep watching Scandal in an attempt to understand why people are so pissed off about the attraction that was shown between Sherlock and Irene (Yup, that is why I keep watching it. Totally 100% why) and I just can’t. The above is how I read the episode from the get-go. Granted, as I’ve said before I have a horse in this race and this is totally that horse. People with other horses are going to see other things. Try as I might, I still don’t see (after 4 OCD viewings) their mutual attraction as invalidating their respective sexual orientations.

The more I watch it the more the absurdity of the ending pisses me off though. Good luck escaping all those machine guns and missile launchers with your scimitar, buddy!

That’s basically what I thought. And was similarly annoyed by the ending. (I just thought it was unnecessary and didn’t add much.)

Update on John’s sweater:

Main body and first sleeve done and knitted together. Just starting on the second sleeve now.

Marie, you need to start lifting weights. This is going to be a heavy BAMF of a sweater when it’s done.

Sherlock is being repeated on BBC3 as we speak. Has anyone else wondered if Jim’s ringtone is a reference to The Dancing Men or am I reading too far between the lines?

I love fan knitters.

Benedict said, ‘It’s all right, Lara, you can hit me harder.’ I was like, ‘Oh can I now, Benedict Cumberbatch?’
Lara Pulver, on the whip scene ( x )

I’m breaking my own image embargo because the way this is cut makes it barely a spoiler at all. BUT I HAVE FEELINGS ABOUT IT.

I am having serious Rupert Graves issues. In that this episode had not nearly enough of him.
